Company is a digital news service that delivers information in a timely, truthful and sometimes quirky manner. Company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide direct support and guidance in all HR matters. You will oversee, consult and problem solve HR responsibilities and work closely with Corporate HR management on specific initiatives, with a heavy concentration on recruiting, especially at the onset. Enthusiasm, great communication and attention to detail are must have attributes for this position. Duties and responsibilities will be based on providing support to all locations with company employees in all functional areas of HR, including but not limited to the following:
Job Responsibilities :
Providing guidance on recruitment and hiring while managing the hiring process
Coaching and advising management on issues such as employee performance and development, addressing employee concerns, and disciplinary actions
Addressing and resolving routine HR matters
Ensuring compliance with federal and state employment regulations, including FMLA, FLSA, ADAA, and EEO
Interpretation and application of policies and procedures
Administration of leave
Conducting new hire orientation
Providing guidance to employees on benefit programs
Conducting employee exit processes, including exit interviews
Safety and workers compensation
Personnel record keeping
Follow through with and execute Corporate HR assignments and initiatives
Ideal candidate will have strong problem solving skills, able to work independently and have excellent communication skills.
Heavy recruiting experience a plus
Solid experience with Microsoft Office is expected and Oracle HRIS experience is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related program of study.
5+ years of HR generalist experience. Media experience preferred. Experience handling HR in a startup environment a huge plus.
