Principally, theHuman Resource Generalistis responsible for the day-to-day management ofHuman Resource overalloperations and day-to-day activities of the HR function and will be assigned human resources related projects. Position entails the daily management of administration policies, procedures and programs of the organization.

n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

n

+ Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and confidentiality. Personal employee information including but not limited to medical, pay, demographic, discipline, accommodation requests, family matters, must be maintained in the strictest confidence. Company confidential information must also be protected.

n

+ HRIS and database maintenance. (Prior experience with ADP and Workday is a plus.)

n

+ Assists employees with benefit-related questions and submitting reimbursement claims.

n

+ Process all terminations and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind voluntary separations.

n

+ Maintains current working knowledge of company policies and procedures, pay practices, employee benefits, employment laws (i.e. ADA, FMLA, FLSA) and communicate regularly with employees to promote understanding and utilization.

n

+ Manages Performance Evaluation process for both Decatur facilities

n

+ Council managers and supervisors pro-actively in effective performance management techniques to improve employee retention and productivity.

n

+ May represent Akorn at unemployment hearings and workers compensation hearings.

n

+ Conducts investigations for employee relations when managers need HR assistance.

n

+ Conducts annual trainings for performance reviews, policy, harassment, workplace violence.

n

+ Participate in All Employee Meetings with PLT to cover HR updates.

n

+ Provide excellent customer service to all Akorn employees at both Wyckles and Grand Facilities.

n

+ Work on special projects as needed.

n

+ Full life-cycle high volume recruiting. Direct sourcing, at least fifty percent (50%) of the time, utilizing your knowledge of industry recruiting, staffing strategies and common practices to select talent at various levels.

n

+ Social networking, data-mining, job postings, campus and community relations. Plan and attend open houses and job fairs to enhance employer branding.

n

+ Prescreen applicants and schedule interviews.

n

+ Prepare and extend offers, coordinate and co-facilitate New Hire Orientation.

n

+ Conduct Intake Sessions with hiring leaders

n

+ Maximize and update the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) in real-time.

n

+ Initiate the drug screens and the background check process.

n

+ Adhere to OFCCP, AAP, State and Federal guidelines. Adhoc projects/reports.

n

+ Some travel required, approximately 10%.

nQualificationsn

QUALIFICATIONS:

n

Understanding of the application of federal and local laws. Understanding of benefit plans and basic concepts relative to plan administration including 401k. Proficient in Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proficient in HRIS and reporting. Thorough understanding of employee benefits.

n

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of job related experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills

n

JOB PREREQUISITES:

n

+ Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.

n

+ Have general math skills; adding, subtracting, multiplication, division and percentage calculation. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.



+ Able to use personal computer and standard office equipment such as fax and copy machines, calculator, and printers. Aptitude to learn computer programs as needed.

n

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills. Resourceful and well organized.

n

+ Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
