Co-op services Credit Union Human Resources Generalist - Employee Relations in Des Moines, Iowa
CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Human Resources Specialist(Employee Relations)to be responsible for being a liaisonbetween the employer and the employee. This involves receiving and effectively handling employee complaints, escalating these complaints to the level of disciplinary or legal action when necessary, updating employees with any changes in company policy, advising supervisors on treatment of staff and company policies, responds to employee violations of policy and generally helps to resolve conflict in the workplace. In addition to that, the employee relations specialist will conduct and analyze exit interviews of associates exiting the company.
Provide coaching to employees and managers as it relates to employment policies and procedures, performance issues, and corrective actions.
Coach and assist managers with difficult situations, identifies alternative solutions to ensure problem resolution.
Conducts involuntary and voluntary termination meetings.
Conduct exit interviews.
Review and approve corrective and disciplinary action requests.
Assist in investigation and response to discrimination claims and audits.
Provide general HR support to employees and managers in the area of employee relations, performance management and employee programs.
Other duties as assigned.
3-5 years’ experience in employee relations.
Additional experience in other areas of HR highly desirable.
Knowledge in conflict management; manages interpersonal dynamics and diplomatically resolves conflicting points of view and objectives.
Strong employee relations, counseling experience and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
Strong knowledge of conducting investigations.
Knowledge of providing feedback and coaching.
Knowledge of federal and state employment law and the ability to research and analyze current labor and employment law preferable.
Proficient knowledge of PC software application and MS Office.
Strong analytical, organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail is required.
Excellent listening and diagnostic skills required.
